By this time you and your family have enjoyed a great Christmas and now look forward to a wonderful new year. A year filled with new and exciting adventures.
This is the time to look back and check what you have accomplished during 2009, a year of change for some and status quo for others.
As you look to the New Year and new priorities for yourself and your Kiwanis club, think about setting five top goals for the coming year. Make this a year of no fear and an attitude of positive growth in your life and your club.
Here are a few ideas to start you thinking.
#1 Break out of the “If Only” land.
You can’t move forward when you are stuck in a world of regrets. The past is over, so start focusing on what you plan to do now. The fastest way to get over something is to write it down and then tear it up. This permits you to let it go
#2 find where you spend most of your time and check to see if it is productive time or just doing the same old things over and over again. We become stuck in a mindless game of chasing our tail-going nowhere fast.
#3 take action steps in meeting your goals each day with small achievable programs that work for you.
#4 Stop procrastination in its tracks. This is a killer of creativity and growth in one’s life professionally and in relationships.
Let’s make this year a Kiwanian year of great success and growth by community involvement, spirited programs, and support of each other.
We have grown by 14 since Oct. 1st. with only two clubs losing members. Our Napa club continues to lead with 8 new members and Yountville with three with San Rafael/Marin, Suisun City, and American Canyon by two new members each.
Many of our 15 clubs are on track to become distinguished and my hope is that all will be by the end of our club year.
